Auditions to join the cast of the Words Players Theatre's presentation of "The Spirit of Christmas Past: An Elizabethan Madrigal Dinner" will be held Monday and Tuesday in Rochester.
The auditions are held at the Words Players Theatre, 14 Fourth St. S.W., Rochester. They run from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. for cast aspirants ages 16 and under, and from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. for adults and older youth.
The theater's community Christmas event this year will be a madrigal dinner featuring choral music and a Renaissance-era mood. The event features a meal, drama and a variety of small musical ensembles. It run Nov. 30 to Dec. 15 at the Kahler Grand Hotel. Nightly performances are at 7 p.m. Two 2 p.m. performances are scheduled for Dec. 8 and 15.
To audition for general parts, no preparation is required unless you have a simple song you want to sing.
For those who want to audition for madrigal parts, come with a song to sing and be ready to sing Christmas carols with a group and in parts.
