Author is guest at Plainview bookstore
PLAINVIEW — Poet and novelist Elizabeth Oness will read from her work at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Common Sense Bookstore, 412 W. Broadway, Plainview.
Oness won the inaugural Brighthouse Books award for latest book, "Leaving Milan." Her poems have appeared in The Hudson Review, Glimmer Train, The Georgia Review and The Gettysburg Review. Her books are "Articles of Faith," "Departures," "Twelve Rivers of the Body" and "Fallibility." Oness is a professor at Winona State University.
Following her reading and a Q & A session, there will be an open mic for audience members to read a brief selection from their own writings.
The Third Wednesday writing event is held every month at Common Sense. Admission is free.
