Author to sign books at downtown Barnes Noble

Terry Degner , author of "My Brave Little Man," which tells of his time spent in a Duluth orphanage, will sign copies of his books from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 19 at the Barnes & Noble store in downtown Rochester.

Degner, who was born in Cook, Minn., was abandoned by his mother in 1950 when he was four years old. He spent time in an orphanage and was adopted by a Minnesota farm couple. He graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in journalism, and taught television drama. He later had a career in film production, and wrote, directed and edited hundreds of productions, including children's shows, documentaries, dramas and training programs. He now lives in Eden Prairie.

"My Brave Little Man" is about Degner's efforts to overcome his early years in a broken family. In addition to signing books, Degner will host a question-and-answer session.
