"A Time for Women," a program of Autumn Ridge Church in Rochester, meets at 7 p.m. Thursday via Zoom.

Juli Fischer will give devotions titled “We Never Know What the Future Holds.” After 22 years of worshipping at Autumn Ridge Church, she moved with her husband to Abu Dhabi, where he is working at a new Mayo-affiliated hospital. Fischer says living in a huge city in a vast desert is exhilarating, challenging, scary, educational and full of surprises.

Also during the program, avid gardener Carol Denny will give the demo “How Does your Garden Grow?” She has prepared kits containing seeds, pots and soil mix, so you can plant along with her. The kits are available for pickup at Christos Bookcenter in Rochester while supplies lasts.

Denny grew up on a farm in Lisbon, N.D., with Christian parents and three siblings. She has a bachelor's degree in horticulture from North Dakota State University. She worked at Republic and Northwest Airlines for 22 years, and has been working with ALS patients in clinical trials at Mayo Clinic for 14 years.
