A parade of what's in style for fall, from Urkel geek-chic glasses frames and bow-ties to lively retro prints and patterns, will be a part of the Fall into Fashion runway show Thursday.
In her role as fashion director for the runway show, Nood Reynolds, style editor for Rochester Magazine , has been scouting the downtown merchants for the best of what's to come.
"Fashions skew more polished this season with lower hemlines, higher necklines and an emphasis on skirts and dresses for women and the return to classic men's tailoring with suits that pop a cuff or sport a bow-tie for the gents," Reynolds said.
As for colors, look for vivid lagoon blues, golds and purples among the perennial color palettes, as well as animal prints and bold and '70s inspired prints, she said. Footwear is also key, she said, with boots of all heights, Mary Janes and oxfords trending strongly.
Her shopping list includes stops at Talbots, Chicos, Hers, Collections by the Nordic Shop, Knight's Chamber, Exquisite Leather and Luggage, The Crate, Hanny's Mens and Womens, Hanny's St. Croix Shop, Hanny's Geiger, Hanny's Couture, Rhea's Scarves & More, Silver Spirit, Revelation, Baby Baby, Baby Clementine, Tangerine, O and B Shoes, Eye Q, and Optical Vision with Flair.

The Fall Into Fashion runway show will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday on the Peace Plaza, downtown Rochester. There will be a happy hour starting at 5 p.m. General seating/standing room is free. VIP seating, which includes dinner and drink from Martini's and a goody bag, is $25. Reserved seating, which includes a goody bag, is $8. To purchase tickets, call 285-2797. In the case of rain, the fashion show will be held Saturday.
Nino Altobelli will lead the Rocco Altobelli Rochester Salon team in doing the models' hair and makeup on the runway several hours before the show, allowing audiences to watch and ask questions.
And be sure to watch for Rae, the local "America's Next Top Model" contestant, who is back from months of global runways and campaign shoots and will be featured in the show.
