From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on May 26, the second annual Health and Fitness Expo for seniors, families and caregivers will be held at the Goodhue County Fair Grounds 4-H building in Zumbrota.
The event is free and open to the public, and is organized by area providers of services for seniors as part of Southern Goodhue County Provider Network.
Featured speakers will be Andrea Buck from Dream Maker Kitchen and Bath at 10 a.m. speaking on "Aging in place; remodeling for your abilities," and Ashland Christiansen at 11 a.m. speaking on senior nutrition.
Exhibits/booths will be open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m with information on local resources and giveaways. Pine Haven Care Center will serve waffles in the morning, with coffee provided by Hub Grocery Store. Bags, napkins and other supplies will be provided by the Bank of Zumbrota and Goodhue County Public Health, Home Instead Senior Care, Zumbrota Center and others. Drawings for door prizes will be held at 10:30 a.m. and noon.
A Semcac cold lunch will be available at noon for $5.50, or for a suggested donation of $3.25 for those over 60. Please call 1-866-644-4510 by May 21 to reserve a spot for lunch.
