Heritage Days begins today

Mayo Clinic Heritage Days , a celebration of clinic history, culture, values, staff and volunteers, starts today and continues to Friday with the theme "Spirit of Service."

Public activities include:

• Free film "Mayo Clinic and the White House: Caring for America’s First Families." Geffen Auditorium, Gonda Building, 100 3rd Ave. S.W., Rochester, 7 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday.

• Concerts and dance performances, 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. daily at several campus locations.

• Mayo Building, 200 1st St. S.W.,Rochester, displays in Mathews Grand Lobby. Antique office furniture from the 1920s, a 1924 Packard Town Car and a 1976 ambulance outside in the Annenberg Plaza, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.


• Mayo Clinic Research Information Center celebrates its one-year anniversary. The center, in the Gonda Building Lobby, is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. On Thursday this week, meet Bruce Johnson and members of the Mount Everest Research Team to learn about their recent expedition.
