Home Is Where the Moon Is

When the moon is full, it's wild. When the moon all but disappears, it's humble, restrained and elegant. Yesterday the moon was new, and now, under the Cancer moon, the powers of discipline are with us. The hardest part is deciding where to apply yourself. Saturn in Scorpio will help you to be honest about what you're willing to give to get.

ARIES (March 21-April 19). The challenge of the day is to find a soft place in your heart for someone who is wired differently (oh, so differently) from the way you are. With compassion, you'll find a way to communicate better.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20). It may seem too overwhelming to come up with a long-term goal now, let alone visualize it to the detailed degree required for manifestation. Visualize the next move and then the move after that. It will be enough.

GEMINI (May 21-June 21). Some people think about every choice, and others bowl through life, seeing what kind of points they can score by aiming forward and letting go. You fall into the second category today, and it will suit you quite well.

CANCER (June 22-July 22). Everyone fails at some point. When it happens to you, just be sure to fail forward. It requires that you commit and lean into the endeavor with all you have.

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22). Some days you feel completely blended into the other seven billion-plus humans on the planet. That's why when a certain someone tells you you're really special, it fills something in your heart.

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22). What's right won't be easy, and what's easy won't be right. No matter. When your mind starts to complain, worry and waver, your guts will carry you through.

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 23). The smallest, most common daily acts are opportunities to apply your whole heart, mind, intellect and soul. When you give over your full attention to any act, you know success.

SCORPIO (Oct. 24-Nov. 21). Abstract goals lead to abstract results. That's still beautiful -- though, like abstract art, there will be many people who won't understand the appeal.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21). If it weren't for adventurers like you, man never would have set sail across oceans, taken to the sky or dared beyond the Earth's atmosphere. Today's leap will be a bold one.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19). It takes a mature person to understand the difference between need and want and behave accordingly. You'll display such maturity today and be rewarded for it later.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18). If you don't like what you're doing, it's hard to be passionate about it, though not impossible. You have to find the aspects you do like. Give it a shot, and you'll be extremely productive.

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20). You don't have to see a person on stage or in action to know whether or not that person has skills. It's a sense you get. You sense and gravitate toward greatness. It's one of your talents.

TODAY'S BIRTHDAY (June 17). There's wonderful kismet for this year's relationships! That said, nothing good comes of two people acting on impulse. Someone (you) will have to be the voice of reason. Is it possible to have a disciplined heart? Try and you'll be richly rewarded. It goes like this: money in July, adventure in August, personal success (after hard work) in November. Love signs are Taurus and Cancer. Your lucky numbers are: 28, 5, 1, 19 and 32.

ASTROLOGICAL QUESTIONS: "My 32-year-old Capricorn son has tried online dating services, arranged dates and dates he's found on his own, but none of them has worked out. He's a Christian. He has epilepsy. He loves his job and travels a lot. Could these things be scaring women off?"

A life lived on purpose is a magnet for love. This is especially true for Capricorns who are deeply fulfilled by identifying their calling and then pursuing that to the ends of the Earth. He is doing this -- fabulous! My concern is that Capricorns can approach finding a mate with the determination equal to climbing a K-2, which can be problematic (and disappointing). Love flourishes in an atmosphere of lighthearted play. However, he does have innate skills useful for a soul-mate strategy. Just as every ambitious Capricorn holds a picture of what success looks like before they achieve it, intentionality precedes manifestation. So just as your son masterfully intends his life achievements into being, I'd suggest he picture his life partner, write it down and follow that with the other thing Capricorn does best: hold out for the best. And don't forget to trust that love is in the stars.

CELEBRITY PROFILES: The unexpected and wild popularity of the hit television series "Duck Dynasty" changed the life of Gemini Sadie Robertson in interesting ways. Ever since, she's been "Dancing with the Stars" and singing with them, too, on her family Christmas album, "Duck the Halls: a Robertson Family Christmas." Her sun and Mercury in Gemini indicates a quick wit, bright levity, a communicative personality and someone who is happiest when sharing.
