With two weeks left in the theatrical run of "The Drawer Boy," the Commonweal Theatre is nearing a 450-pound goal for its food drive.
At the start of this week, the theater had collected 413 pounds of food that has been distributed through food shelves in Preston, Rushford, Caledonia and Houston.
Students receive free admission, and adults receive a $5 discount from their ticket price in exchange for a donation of fresh produce or nonperishable food. This is the first time the Commonweal has associated a food drive with a performance.
