Plant sale raises money for community projects

More than 150 plant varieties will be for sale during the Rochester Garden and Flower Club 's 73rd annual plant sale.

The sale will run from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. May 16 and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 17 in the Horticulture building at the Olmsted County Fairgrounds in Rochester.

Most of the plants are donated by club members as a fundraiser to support community service projects in the Rochester area. Nonperishable food donations for Channel One Food Bank and Food Shelf will also be collected during the sale.

Kyle Herring, of Eco-Logistics, will also feature native flowers, sedges, grasses and shrubs during the sale.
