ZUMBROTA — Singer/songwriters Lucy Wainwright Roche and Claudia Schmidt will take the stage of the Crossings at Carnegie art center Sept. 7 and 8.
Roche performs at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 7, followed by Schmidt at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 8.
Roche comes from a famous musical family, but initially became a classroom teacher before turning fulltime to music. Her mother is Suzzy Roche, of the Roches, and her father is Loudon Wainwright III. She recently collaborated with her mother on a concert tour. Her new album, "Little Beast," is due this fall. Tickets are $24 in advance, $28 the day of the show.
Schmidt needs no introduction to local audiences, having performed on several area stages over the past 30 years. She mixes folk, jazz, blues and poetry in her adventurous concerts. She’s also liable to pull out her hammered dulcimer for a tune or two. Tickets for the Schmidt concert are $20 in advance, $23 at the door.
Tickets for either concert are available at crossingsatcarnegie.com, and by phone at 507-753-2080.
