Call me Ishmael, but Winona is filling up with white whales!
They're part of the upcoming Rockwell Kent celebration , Feb. 6-10. An ice sculpture by artist John Njoes, featuring Captain Ahab and the whale, was installed on Friday outside the science center at Winona State University. A second, three-panel installation will be carved at the Minnesota Marine Art Museum beginning Feb. 4.
A whole host of events associated with the Kent festival — including a book study of "Moby-Dick" — are listed at the festival website, rockwellkentwinona.org.
