Minnesota Book Award winner Shawn Lawrence Otto will offer what promises to be a very thought-provoking evening Thursday at University Center Rochester.
Otto, the author of "Fool Me Twice: Fighting the Assault on Science in America" and screenwriter and coproducer of the film "House of Sand and Fog," will speak on what he describes as an "antiscience" outlook in U.S. politics that threatens the country's progress.
Otto's speech begins at 7 p.m. in Coffman Center room 206. Admission is free. The program is sponsored by Southeastern Libraries Cooperating and Southeast Library System using funds from the Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
