This wine features a blend of Viognier, Chardonnay, Semillon and Chenin Blanc from South Africa.
The estate is in the Tygerberg Valley near Durban in South Africa. The slopes in this valley offer a unique opportunity to plant several varieties depending on the position of the slopes. The result is that all of the grapes used are grown in optimum conditions even though they are all grown on the estate.
Another bonus is that the grapes are grown only 15 kilometers away from the Atlantic ocean. This makes the Tygerburg Valley one of the coolest winegrowing regions in the country, giving a fresh, crisp style that is perfect for white wines.
This wine has a pale straw-color. Due to differential picking, the grapes impart a whole spectrum of flavors to the wine, ranging from bell pepper, green figs, grapefruit to grass. This wine is fresh and lively on the palate where the fruit is replicated and the wine finishes with a nice acidic grip.
Serve chilled as an aperitif or as an accompaniment to salads, fish, shellfish and light white meat dishes.
