Vernon Zander was born on October 25, 1920, in Lewiston, MN, to Herb and Lil Zander. At 6 months of age, his family moved to Saskatchewan, Canada, where he spent the next 12 years of his life. Vernon and family moved back to Lewiston. In 1944 he married Merle (Grant), who has since passed. Vernon then married Adele (Crossfield). Vernon sold insurance for Rollingstone Mutual Insurance and Farmer's Insurance. Vernon was the Lewiston Mayor for 20 years (1962-1982).
An Open House to celebrate Vernon Zander's 90th birthday will be held on Sat., Oct. 23, 2010, from 1 - 3 pm at St. Paul's Church UCC/ELCA in Lewiston, MN. You are invited to come and share a favorite memory with Vernon and his family. Vernon's nieces (Debby, Peggy and Rebecca) will be hosting the event.
