Spring is finally in the air, making it the perfect time to slip on some boots.
That's right, boots are essential footwear in Minnesota — winter boots, fashion boots, and now it's time for rain boots.
Fortunately, the joy of jumping in puddles keeps getting better with all of the fun new rain boot designs out there. Tractor Supply Co., 4205 Maine Ave. S.E., in Rochester, has rain boots for boys, girls, women and men in various colors and styles. There's everything from plain and practical to trendy styles that make a splash. Prices range from $14.99 to $19.99.
A new treat
Treats and Treasures , 112 S. Washington St., Lake City, knows how to treat its customers. The store is bringing in Flax, an upscale line of linen clothing, based on the requests of two loyal customers, said Jil Garry, who co-owns the store with her husband. While it's not always possible to accommodate customer requests, Garry is happy to when she can, she said.

The first shipment of the Flax line is expected to arrive this week with a variety of neutral hues in all sizes up to 2x. The line complements the Chalet apparel, which is comfortable, casual and made in the United States using natural materials such as bamboo and cotton.
"I could go to sleep in it, it's just so comfortable," Barry said with a laugh.
Hop to it
The Easter Bunny will be moving into some new digs at Apache Mall in Rochester on Saturday.
The newly designed "Bunny Hop," located near Center Court, is decorated with fancifully decorated eggs, including an egg-like throne for the big bunny, a flat-screen television for entertainment during wait time, and a winding bunny trail outlined in lush green grass and perfectly manicured hedges.
You can visit the Easter Bunny to get free hugs and a bunny mask or purchase a photos package.
Hours to visit the Easter Bunny are 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, from April 5-15. Also: 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday, April 16-19. Pet Nights with the Easter Bunny are scheduled for April 7 and 14.
