Winona Symphony celebrates 110 years of music

WINONA — The Winona Symphony Orchestra marks its 110th anniversary with a concert at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Somsen Hall on the campus of Winona State University.

The program will feature Copland’s "Appalachian Spring," Ridout’s "Tafelmusik," and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 2. The orchestra was formed in 1908 by Carl Ruggles.

Tickets are $15 for adults, $6 for college students, free admission for high school students with ID, and for middle school and elementary students accompanied by an adult. Advance tickets are available at Hardt’s Music in Winona and online at winonasymphony.org.
