ZUMBROTA — A silent auction of the artistic banners that have hung from Zumbrota light poles since last June will be held at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at the VFW banquet hall, 25 E. First St., Zumbrota.
The Art on Main project, organized by the Zumbrota Area Arts Council, annually places a new set of banners, all designed by local artists, on light poles throughout downtown Zumbrota. At the end of each summer, the banners, as well as the original artwork from which they are produced, is auctioned off, with proceeds supporting the State Theatre renovation project.
Plans for the State include the addition of handicapped-accessible restrooms and an enlarged lobby area.
Saturday's event includes live music, food, an auction and an art exhibit by Greg Finnegan. Tickets are $18, available online at zaac.org, or at Wild Ginger, 507-732-4123.
