Lucille Hareldson - Lanesboro


The funeral for Lucille Hareldson, 80, of Lanesboro, will be Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2011, at

11 a.m. at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Lanesboro, with the Rev. Kerry Eversole and the Rev. Lyle Aadahl officiating. Burial will be in the Lanesboro Cemetery in Lanesboro.

Lucille died Sept. 17, 2011, at the Chosen Valley Care Center in Chatfield, where she had resided for three years.

Lucille Eleanor Aasum was born June 27, 1931, in Hesper, Iowa, to Olaf and Mabel (Johnson) Aasum. She graduated from Mabel High School in 1949. Lucille lived in rural Hesper until 1952, in rural Lanesboro until 2004, lived with family, moved to Grandma B’s Elder Care in Rochester for two years and in the Chosen Valley Care Center in Chatfield for the last three years. She married Orris Hareldson and was later divorced.

Lucille was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and WELCA. She was a hard worker on the farm for many years. She was on the Carrolton Township voting committee and worked at Eagle Bluff Resource Center.


Survivors include two sons, Gary (Sherry) Hareldson of Fountain, Roger (special friend Trish) Hareldson of Lanesboro; six daughters, Lorraine (Eric) Froyum of Zumbrota, Linda Peterson of Northfield, Diane (special friend Raymond) Hareldson of Preston, Cheryl Kelly of Lompoc, Calif., Judy (Brian Cramer) Anderson of Owatonna and Donna (James) Fry of Grand Meadow;  21 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Lucille was preceded in death by her parents and a granddaughter, Emily.

Visitation will be Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2011, at the Johnson-Riley Funeral Home in Lanesboro from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m., and an hour before the service Wednesday at the church.
