Mary F. Reiman (Pelowski), 78, of rural St. Charles, died Sunday, April 24, 2011, at Saint Marys Hospital, of pneumonia.

Mary Reiman was born Aug. 6, 1932, in Winona, to Felix and Sophie Pelowski. She grew up in rural Pinecreek, Wis., and with her parents, later moved to rural Saratoga. She married Lewis Reiman and they were later divorced. She worked a number of jobs — as a waitress, a home health aide, at the U.S. Ag Department and was an Avon Lady.

She enjoyed talking about her upbringing and past jobs and socializing with friends. She would always share with you what was on her mind. She loved the country, along with her animals. She raised chicken, ducks and geese until moving to the nursing home. She loved to tend to her garden, a love that she passed on to her children.

Survivors include six children, a son of Utica, Cyndy Thorn of Houston, Patrick (Boon) of Clear Lake, Iowa, Leo (Cathy) Reiman of Houston, Texas, Brian (Kimberly) of Marion and Jeff (Tanya) of St. Charles; 17 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Jim Pelowski of rural Utica and Jack Pelowski of Chester, Minn. She was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Pelowski; and a sister, Lorraine Smith.

Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Friday, April 29, 2011, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, with the Reverend Kurt Farrell officiating. Burial will follow at Saratoga Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday at Hoff Funeral and Cremation Service in St. Charles, and one hour prior the service at church.
