MaryAnna Passe, 65, of Wabasha, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2011, at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital.
MaryAnna was born Oct. 1, 1946, to Spencer and Susanne (Tibesar) Sylvester. She married William Passe Nov. 20, 1965, at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Kellogg. They settled in Wabasha after they were married. MaryAnna worked as a nurse’s aide at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Wabasha. She also worked for the American Legion Post, Binner Refrigeration, Country Bouquet and Stumpf Printing. MaryAnna also ran a daycare in her home.
MaryAnna and her husband were foster parents for Wabasha County for several years caring for infants and preschoolers.
She was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Kellogg. She also enjoyed playing bingo, racing, bingo, attending her granddaughters ballgames, trips to the casino, bingo and traveling.
MaryAnna is survived by her husband, Bill; children, Terri (Jeff) Hartsook of Broadview Heights, Ohio, Tracy (Kevin) Hager of Kellogg, Toni (Matt Stenzel) Passe of Red Wing and Jerri (Kevin) Elberg of Pepin, Wis.; grandchildren, Jennifer (Nate Patraw) Ridgeway, Heidi (Bryce Bergquist) Ridgeway, Brianna Kircher, Kerrin Elberg and Emily Kircher; two sisters, Diane Lowery of Illinois and Theresa Parsons of Illinois; a brother-in-law, Gene (Joyce) Passe; sisters-in-law, Joanie Passe, Sharon (Ken) Harcey, Mary Hall and Joann (Mike) Blair; special family and friends, Little Tony, Allen and Mary, Ruthie and Jerry, Dianne and Larry; her godson, Tom; and a large host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; father and mother-in-law; sister, Maxine Simpson; and brother, Wayne (Sylvester) Barnett.
A Memorial Mass will be held Saturday, Nov. 12, at 11 a.m. at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Kellogg, with Father Milo Ernster officiating. Burial will be in St. Agnes Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, Nov. 11, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Abbott Funeral Home in Wabasha. Friends may also call one hour before the service at the church. There will be a prayer service Friday at 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
