ROCHESTER — Maurice W. Klingsporn, age 66 of Rochester, died on Saturday, Feb. 19, 2011, at Saint Marys Hospital.

A memorial Mass is scheduled for 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 25, 2011, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Pine Island, with Father Timothy Dolan officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday, Feb. 24, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Mahn Family Funeral Home-Larson Chapel in Zumbrota.

Maurice William Klingsporn was born on Feb. 13, 1945, in Rochester, to Albert and Alice (Harvey) Klingsporn. He attended Pine Island High School and entered the United States Army at the age of 18. While in the Army, Maurice served on the Military Honor Guard. After being discharged, he enrolled in Winona State University, where he later graduated and earned his Certified Personal Accountant certification.

In 1967, Maurice married Jean Marie Bruehling (31 years). The couple began their family in Pine Island, raising two children, Joe and Deanna. In 2002 Maurice married Dianne Eberhart, and they resided in Rochester. The couple traveled extensively, played golf, and enjoyed spending time with their grandchildren.

Maurice was also an avid bicyclist, having ridden the MS Tram multiple times across much of Minnesota. He was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Pine Island, serving as Eucharistic Minister. He was also a member of the American Legion and VFW.

Maurice is survived by his wife, Dianne of Rochester; his two children, Joe (Shannon) Klingsporn of Stillwater, Minn., and Deanna (Thomas) Boysen of Isanti, Minn.; step-children, Beth Jewson and Angie Wills; grandchildren, Morgan Klingsporn, Mackenzie Boysen, Karter Klingsporn and Ben Boysen; step-grandchildren, Peter Wills, and Sam and Max Jewson; siblings, Betty Rothen, Jean (Bob) Fryer, Richard (Grace) Klingsporn, Jim Klingsporn, Marilyn Mahoney, Larry (Marcia) Klingsporn and Cynthia (Wayne) Kiehne; first wife, Jean Klingsporn Braun; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Albert, Robert and John Klingsporn; and sisters, Marjorie Klingsporn and Gloria Wittlief.
