Maxine Donna Amacher, 92, of Austin, passed away peacefully Saturday morning, Nov. 26, 2011, at Our House Memory Care.
Maxine was born May 30, 1919, in London, Minn., to Swan H. and Dena S. (Holte) Haldorson. She was born and raised in her home in London, where she also attended school. Maxine married Walter C. Amacher at the Trondhjem Lutheran Church and was a homemaker for many years. She moved to the Oaks in 1986 and enjoyed spending time playing cards and volunteering at Trondhjem Lutheran Church.
Maxine also belonged to the Moose Lodge, the Eagles Club, and the American Legion. One of her hobbies was making quilts, and she donated hundreds of them to the Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Survivors include her daughter, Diane (Martin Farber) Amacher of Salt Lake City; her son, Walt (Jacquie) Amacher of Omaha, Neb.; two grandchildren, Mark Amacher and Eric Amacher; and two great-grandchildren; Austyn and Zaiden. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter; her parents, Swan and Dena; and a brother, Oliver.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 30, at the Trondhjem Lutheran Church, 87740 170th St., in Austin, with Pastor Katie Fick officiating. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow the service in Trondhjem Cemetery.
