Myrtle Bell Tjepkes will be turning 100 on August 20 thand will be having a 100th Birthday celebration open house on August 22, 2015 at the United Methodist Church in Racine, MN, from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Myrtle still lives independently in her own home with some help from her children. She was married to her beloved husband Albert for 53 years until his passing and has 10 children, 176 grand, great grand and great-great grand kids and still counting. She worked all of her life on the farm, as well as a waitress for the Green Parrot in Rochester, Tiffin Inn in Denver, CO, and The Fish House Restaurant in Stewartville, MN. She then took on the hobby of refinishing antique furniture for several years until the age of 93. Her other hobbies were gardening, lots of flowers and canning. She has always been a Minnesota Twins fan and still watches them every day they’re on.
