CHATFIELD — Myrtle Rose Klema, 88, of Chatfield, died Friday at the Chosen Valley Care Center. She had lived there two-and-a-half years.
Myrtle Rose Hanson was born Jan. 7, 1923, in Lanesboro. She graduated from Preston High School in 1941. She married George W. Klema on Nov. 15, 1952, in Preston, where they resided until moving to Chatfield in 1953.
She was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking and raising her six boys. Her husband, George, was a farm laborer and also worked for Libby's in the maintenance department. He died on April 16, 2000.
She is survived by five sons, Dennis Hanson of Rochester, Alan (Betty) Hanson of Hephzibah, Ga., Dean Klema of Fountain, Phillip Klema of Champlin, Minn., and Marvin Klema of Fountain; six grandchildren and two great-grandsons.
She is preceded in death by her husband and one son.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Riley Funeral Home in Chatfield. Burial will be in the Chatfield Cemetery, next to her husband, in the spring.
