• The Brownsdale Study Club met on August 20. Ten members enjoyed a luncheon meeting at Route 56 Cafe.

Roll Call was answered by sharing fond memories about "County Fair Trivia."

New officers were elected as follows: President, Beryl Sprung; vice president, Fern Paschke; secretary-treasurer, Mary Gallaher and Hazel Schlicting will share duties.

Betty West gave a report on the Human Society. Rena Perrigo’s main topic was "Infamous Women."

• Austin Duplicate Bridge Club: August 27, seven tables played. N-S winners: First, Russ Mahaffey and Charles Hansen; second, Belva Fiala and Lu Schmitt; third, Oscar Haddorff and Arme Lang. E-W winners: First, David Ring and Orrion Roisen; second, Marilyn Gesme and Dee Bloomingdale; third, Dick Paul and Harley Miller.


Duplicate bridge is played each Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the Twin Towers in Austin. All bridge players are welcome.
