A vehicle struck a power pole in Rochester Monday morning, knocking out power to 1,700 customers, according to Rochester Public Utilities spokesman Tony Benson.

The outage happened around 10 a.m. and lasted roughly an hour or less, Benson said. The affected area included 16th Avenue Northwest to 41st Avenue Northwest and Seventh Street Northwest to Folwell Drive Southwest.

Benson said this morning that RPU crews are working to replace the entire power pole, but power is back on in the affected area.

Benson said that he didn’t know the location of where the pole was struck.
