Amanda Benarroch, daughter of Kathleen M. McEvoy and Eduardo E. Benarroch, was the editor of the school newspaper, co-founder of the Student Awareness Club and a National Honor Society member. She has been a National Hispanic Finalist and involved in the Model UN, Mock Trial, LINK Crew, tennis, Frisbee Club and Scrabble Club. She volunteered for the Juntos tutoring program. She plans to attend the University of Minnesota’s honors program to major in journalism, education or political science.

Elizabeth Carlson, daughter of Dan and Teresa Carlson, is a National Honor Society member who has been involved in the school yearbook, Speech Team, Youth Group Worship Team and theater. She has volunteered at Mayo Clinic and her church. She plans to attend Evangel University in Springfield, Mo., to major in writing, music or education.

Margaret Christner, daughter of Gregory and Jodie Christner, is a National Honor Society member who has won the titles of Academic All-American, All-State Academic Champion and Big-9 Scholar Athlete. She has been involved in band, orchestra, choir, soccer, lacrosse, track, Nordic skiing, theater, Model UN and LINK Crew. She has volunteered at Washington Elementary School for three years. She plans to attend St. Olaf College in Northfield to major in psychology.

Jacqueline Christy, daughter of Dan and Mary Christy, is a National Honor Society member and a National Merit Commended Student. She has been involved in cross country, gymnastics, track and field, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, varsity Frisbee and Jazz Band and has volunteered through the National Honor Society and at a summer camp. She plans to attend the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire to major in secondary education and mathematics.

Mitchell Cleghorn, son of Dennis and Kathy Cleghorn, is a National Honor Society member who has been involved in cross country, highway cleanup and the 4H after-school program at Riverside Elementary School. He plans to attend the University of Minnesota in the Twin Cities as a pre-med student.

Sara Dykowski, daughter of Brenda Oldroyd and John Dykowski, has been a member of Key Club and is planning to attend the University of Minnesota to major in biology.

Teresa Edwards, daughter of John and JT Edwards, is a National Honor Society member and a National Merit Scholarship finalist. She has been involved in LINK Crew, figure skating, piano and the Southeastern Minnesota Youth Orchestra as a violinist. She has volunteered at Mayo Clinic and the Sunrise Cottages Assisted Living Center. She plans to attend St. Olaf College in Northfield as a pre-med student and to study music.

Danielle Fischer, daughter of Jeff and Deb Fischer, has won the titles of All-State Academic, Academic All-American and State Academic Champion and has received scholarships from Mayo Clinic and the Rochester University of Wisconsin Alumni Chapter. She has been involved in soccer, basketball, lacrosse and Key Club. She plans to attend the University of Wisconsin-Madison to study pharmacy.

Croix Fossum, son of Bruce Fossum and Sandy Houle, is a National Honor Society member who has won the titles of Big-9 Scholar Athlete. He has been involved in football, intramural basketball, LINK Crew and has volunteered for Habitat for Humanity, Rochesterfest, youth football camps and Paws and Claws animal shelter. He plans to attend the University of Wisconsin-Madison to major in biology.

Megan Frutiger, daughter of Bruce and Kathy Frutiger, is a National Honor Society member, a National Merit Commended Student, a Scholar Athlete and winner of Yale Book and Izaak Walton League Science awards. She has been involved in soccer, lacrosse, Spanish Club, Youth Choir and the Student Action Leadership Team and has volunteered at the Salvation Army and nursing homes. She plans to attend Bethel University in St. Paul to major in biology or athletic training.

Natalie Garcia, daughter of Angel and Melissa Garcia, is a National Honor Society member, a National Merit Commended Student and Big-9 Scholar Athlete who has been involved in cheerleading, symphonic winds group, ultimate Frisbee, LINK Crew, the school yearbook, Nordic Ski Team and horseback riding. She has volunteered for RideAbility, Habitat for Humanity, Christ United Methodist Church, Safe Haven and the Salvation Army. She plans to attend Colorado State University to major in equine science.

Phillip Gregoire, son of James Gregoire and Sheila Jowsey-Gregoire, is a National Honor Society member who has been involved in band, jazz band, the Young Republicans, Young Democrats, Cycling Club, intramural basketball and theater. He is an Eagle Scout who has volunteered with the Boy Scouts and the Summer of Service program.

She has been involved in cross country, cross country skiing, track, horseback riding, LINK Crew, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Frisbee Club and band and has volunteered for RideAbility, Paws & Claws animal shelter, Channel One food shelf and the Elks Lodge. She plans to attend NDSU to major in equine science.

Lisa Harney, daughter of Ray and Carrie Harney, is a National Honor Society member, winner of a State Science Fair academic letter, a Big-9 Scholar Athlete and recipient of an honors diploma. She has been involved in soccer, Nordic Ski Team, track and field, peer tutoring, several school bands, LINK Crew and the Augsburg College Vocational Institute. She has volunteered for Community Food Response, Samaritan Bethany, Salvation Army Channel One food shelf and ABC. She plans to attend Luther College in Decorah, Iowa, as a pre-med student minoring in Spanish.

Tracy Heetland, daughter of Greg and Amy Heetland, is a National Honor Society member who has been involved in school bands, pit orchestra and LINK Crew. She has volunteered for Bethel Lutheran Church and Mayo Clinic. She plans to attend Luther College in Decorah, Iowa, to study medicine.

Heather Henry, daughter of Sharon Jarett and Robert Jarett, will receive a two-year liberal arts and science degree from Rochester Community and Technical College along with her high school diploma. She has been involved in the Model UN, St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, RCTC’s student newspaper and has volunteered with the Rochester Leo Lions Club. She plans to attend New York University as a pre-law student and philosophy major.

Renee Hettinger, daughter of Eric and Noreen Hettinger, is a National Honor Society member and recipient of an honors diploma. She has been involved in cheerleading and Key Club and has volunteered for Channel One food shelf, the Rochester Public Library and the Empty Bowls Project. She plans to attend the University of Minnesota in the Twin Cities.

Nathan Hickey, son of Mark and Judy Hickey, is a National Honors Society member and Scholar Athlete who has been involved in varsity track, varsity cross country, theater, choir, the Southeastern Minnesota Youth Orchestra and the Holy Spirit Church Youth Choir. He plans to attend the University of Minnesota in the Twin Cities.

Megan Jacobsen, daughter of Will and Vicki Jacobsen, is a National Merit Commended Student and recipient of a Concordia College Presidential Scholarship. She has been involved in various school and church choirs and the Student Worship Team. She plans to attend Concordia College in Moorhead, Minn., to major in physics and mathematics.

Emily Jacobson, daughter of Deb and Dave Jacobson, is a National Honor Society member and an Academic All-State and Big-9 Scholar athlete. She has been involved in soccer, basketball, LINK Crew, Key Club, the State Science Fair and has volunteered for various projects for Key Club and the National Honor Society and youth basketball camps. She plans to attend Hamline University in St. Paul as a pre-med student.

Kim Karwoski, daughter of Ron and Sue Karwoski, is a National Honor Society member who has been involved in Key Club and volleyball. She has volunteered as a Sunday school teacher. She plans to attend Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, to study pharmacy.

Natalie Langr, daughter of Paul and Pam Langr, is a National Honor Society vice president and an Academic All-State and Big-9 Scholar athlete. She has been involved in cross country, Nordic skiing, track and field, school bands, varsity Frisbee, Four Square Club and has volunteered for Channel One food shelf, Juntos math tutoring and Resurrection Lutheran Church. She plans to attend the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.

Christine McTavish, daughter of Gene and Sue McTavish, is a National Honor Society member and a Big-9 Scholar Athlete. She has been involved in cross country, Nordic Ski Team, the marching and pep bands, varsity Frisbee and Four Square Club and has volunteered for Channel One food shelf. She plans to attend the University of Wisconsin in La Crosse to major in biology.

Peter Meng, son of Chung Meng and Sherry Meng, is a National Honor Society member and a Big-9 Scholar Athlete. He has been involved in DECA, Business Professionals of America, the school newspaper, theater, Math League, cross country and Skills USA and has volunteered for the Rochester Area Builders. He plans to attend St. Olaf College in Northfield for one year and then transfer to Cornell University in Ithaca, N.Y., as a pre-med student.

Christina Misso, daughter of Sheila Misso, is a National Honor Society member who has been involved in Literary Guild, Science Olympia, theater, Girl Scouts, Ballroom Dance Club, Anime Club and music. She has volunteered as a Sunday school teacher and for church orchestra. She plans to attend Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Ore., to study biochemistry and music.

Catherine Nass, daughter of Arvid and Colleen Nass, is a National Honor Society member and Academic All-State and Big-9 Scholar athlete. She has been involved in the science fair, basketball, volleyball, band, Youth Group and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and has volunteered as a tutor. She plans to attend Hillsdale College in Hillsdale, Mich., as a pre-med student.

Luke Porter, son of Co-burn and Penelope Porter, is a National Honor Society member and recipient of University of Minnesota Iron Range and Mayo Foundation scholarships. He has been involved in Project 540, Business Professionals of America, Ultimate Frisbee, Four Square Club, Ski Club, LINK Crew, tennis and intramural basketball. He has volunteered for Channel One food shelf, Interfaith Hospitality Network and as a geometry and algebra tutor. He plans to attend the University of Minnesota in the Twin Cities to study entrepreneurial management.

Ryan Rush, son of Jon and Nancy Rush, is a National Society of High School Scholars member and nominee for the National Youth Leadership Forum on Defense Intelligence and Diplomacy. He has been involved in varsity swimming, Ski Club and has volunteered with his church youth group. He plans to attend the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, N.D., to major in aerospace engineering.

Tanya Sylvester, daughter of Nancy and Steve Varney and Richard and Laurie Sylvester, is an All-American athlete who was student of the month in mathematics and for the Kiwanis Club. She has been involved in Swim Club, piano and was a youth apprentice in the cytopathology lab at Mayo Clinic. She has volunteered as a piano player for the children’s choir at church, as a tutor and for Safe Haven Pet Rescue. She plans to attend Truman State University in Kirksville, Mo., to major in biology and minor in Spanish.

Elisa Tally, daughter of Keith and Laura Tally, is a National Honor Society member who has been involved in band, orchestra, Panther Film Club, Spanish Club, ministries and Envirothon. She has volunteered for RideAbility and Camp Victory. She plans to attend Northwestern College in St. Paul to major in English literature and writing and minor in Spanish.

Kyle Teske, son of John and Kathy Teske, is a National Honor Society member and National Merit Finalist who has been involved in varsity tennis, school bands, Frisbee Club, Nordic Ski Team, Four Square Club and intramural basketball. He has volunteered through the National Honor Society. He plans to attend Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa, to major in computer engineering.

Julia Walk, daughter of Bruce and Melissa Walk, is a National Honor Society member, a National Merit Commended Student and a Big-9 Scholar Athlete. She has been involved in cross country, track and field, Nordic Ski Team and school bands. She has volunteered for various organizations through her church, as a pianist at Sunrise Cottages and as a tutor. She plans to attend Luther College in Decorah, Iowa, to major in English.
