A 16-year-old boy was punched in the face late Sunday night after he gave a ride to two men, one of whom showed a knife, Rochester police report.

The teenager had picked up the two passengers in his minivan. One produced a folding knife and ordered him out of the car at about 45th Street Northwest and 18th Avenue, police said.

The two men, both about 19 years old, also jumped out of the car. One punched the boy and both then fled on foot, according to the police report.

The 16-year-old told police he knew the assailants, but did not know their names. He also said he did not know why he had been hit, police said.


There was no report of serious injury.
