APPLE VALLEY, Minn. -- One brother was killed and another critically injured Wednesday after the car the Lakeville teens were riding in crossed into oncoming traffic and crashed into a pickup truck and a school bus.
There were no students on the bus, said Police Capt. Craig Anglin.
Eighteen-year-old Christopher Carlson, who was driving the car, died in the crash. His brother, 15-year-old Richard Carlson was injured, Anglin said.
The crash happened at 6:44 a.m. on 160th Street. Anglin said the brothers were in an eastbound car and they ended up in the path of a westbound pickup. The car collided with the pickup and then collided with the school bus, which also was westbound.
The school bus driver and the pickup driver weren't hurt.
