Superintendent Candace Raskin was not chosen as a finalist for the superintendent’s position at Prior Lake-Savage Area Schools.
One of seven candidates considered for the position, Raskin said Friday morning it wasn’t the right job for her.
"It simply wasn’t the right fit," said Raskin. "I believe everything happens for a reason."

Raskin was one of seven candidates for the position. She interviewed with the district Wednesday.
In March, Raskin interviewed for the superintendent’s position at White Bear Lake Area Schools, where she told the school board she is "at a point where I need to make my career move if that’s what I’m going to do."
She was one of five candidates for that position, but was not chosen for a second-round interview.
A longtime employee of Austin’s schools, Raskin has been in the superintendent’s position since 2004. Before taking that position, she served in several different positions within the district, including principal of Ellis Middle School and Banfield Elementary School and director of educational services.
Raskin said she does not plan to seek any more interviews at this time.
Her contract with Austin Public Schools will expire in July 2009. Negotiations on a new contract could begin this summer, if the board follows past practice.
