Groundbreaking for a memorial that will honor war veterans is scheduled for tomorrow at Soldiers Field. Several local veterans will play prominent parts in the ceremony, and there will be many special guests. The target completion date is the year 2000.

Almost 400 students received diplomas from Rochester Community College in commencement exercises.

More than 20 organizations will participate in the Civic Flag Day observance sponsored by the local Elks Club. A parade will proceed along Second Street Southwest to Mayo Memorial Park.
