NEW YORK -- Sixteen Minnesota companies made the Fortune 500, which is Fortune magazine's ranking of the nation's largest companies.
Target, at No. 34, is the highest rated of the Minnesota companies. Hormel Foods of Austin moved up 60 spots and comes in at No. 392.
The list is compiled on the basis of 2001 revenue, broken down by state. Each entry includes rank nationwide, name of company, headquarters, last year's ranking, and 2001 revenue in billions of dollars.
