Irish band comes to Crossings
ZUMBROTA — The Irish band Chulrua will perform in concert at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 27 at Crossings at Carnegie, 320 East Ave., Zumbrota.
Chulrua plays traditional instrumental music of Ireland, including jigs, reels, polkas and set dances.
The band consists of accordion player Paddy O’Brien, who has spent 40 years traveling throughout Ireland to collect tunes from older musicians, Pat Egan on guitar, and Dale Russ on fiddle.
Tickets are $26 in advance, $28 at the door and can be reserved by calling (507) 732-7616.

Ensemble to perform at art center
The Twin Cities First Chamber Music Ensemble will perform the music of Schubert, Shostakovich and Mahler in a concert at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 27 at the Rochester Art Center.
The concert is sponsored by the Rochester Chamber Music Society.
The Twin Cities ensemble consists of Rees Allison on piano, Michael Sutton on violin, Aaron Jance on viola and Jim Jacobson on cello.
The program features Trio in E-flat Major by Schubert, Sonata for Violin and Piano by Shostakovich, and Piano Quartet in G Minor by Mahler.
Tickets are $15 for general, $10 for senior citizens and students, $40 for a family.
