Awards
• Nine organizations have received the 2007 Minnesota Quality Award, given by the Minnesota Council for Quality. Achievement level award: Winona Health. Advancement level award; Mayo Health System of Mankato, Commitment level award; Cardinal of Minnesota from Rochester; Hayfield Community Schools; Pine Island Public Schools and Zumbrota-Mazeppa Schools.
• Ben Baratto, of Winona, and Esther Pfeifer of Rochester both received the Educator Award, presented by the Southeast Retired Educators Association of Minnesota at their Spring Conference in Austin. The award is given to an educator who has an exceptional teaching record; has promoted the causes of edcuation; has served school, community and church as a volunteer and has been active in retired educator groups on the local, regional and state level.
• Keith Wix, manager of the Midas
automotive service shop on North Broadway in Rochester, was selected as one of 50 Midas President’s Award winners in North America for the shop’s excellence in performance in 2007. The competition ranked shops in the U.S. and Canada on their scores for customer satisfaction, customer retention and retail sales growth.
