Library hosts May events
The Rochester Public Library will host the following events during May. There is no cost for the events.
- Tuesday, May 13: 6:30 p.m., writing group. Held in meeting room A. Once a month, the group will meet to read and critique a member’s writing. The goal is to improve writing in a friendly, supportive environment.
- Wednesday, May 14: 6 p.m., iFilms: international and independent films. Held in the auditorium. Please note that the iFilm series is intended for mature adults. Admission is free.
Habitat for Humanity hosts golf tournament
The Rochester Area Habitat for Humanity will host its second annual golf tournament and silent auction June 2 at the Rochester Golf and Country Club.
Check-in time will be at 11 a.m. and the shotgun start will begin at noon. Dinner will begin at 5 p.m.
The cost for the event is $150 per golfer and $500 per foursome. The cost includes one cart per golf pair, a free collared shirt, a box lunch and goodie bag, dinner, a complimentary drink ticket, a free Marguique Rescue Wood and admission to the silent auction and dinner show.

Anyone who wishes not to participate in the golf tournament but would like to attend the dinner and silent auction may purchase a ticket for $40.
