Representatives of the Iowa, Chicago and Eastern Railroad Corp. still do not know what caused a train derailment Monday afternoon near Austin.
According to the railroad company, 12 cars carrying various types of cargo derailed north of Austin at about noon, causing a temporary halt of rail service.
Rail service was restored Monday night, and all the cars were rerailed Tuesday morning.

No injuries were reported.
As of Tuesday afternoon, the cause of the derailment was still under investigation.
