The change is effective Monday. Mailing of the newspaper will be delayed next week, because the Fourth of July falls on a Wednesday.
"So my first paper will be out a day late. I wonder if that is a bad omen?" quipped Pete Grimsrud.
The News-Record has between 10 to 12 full and part-time employees.
Pete Grimsrud now takes over as publisher and will write some columns. He previously served as advertising director. Matthew Grimsrud, Pete’s brother, is the newspaper’s editor.
Their father, Dave, will continue to contribute columns and editorials for the paper. He also will be working as an assistant coach for the new Rochester Fire professional basketball team.
The Grimsrud family entered the newspaper business in 1946, when Alton T.
Grimsrud bought the Zumbrota News.
