The Rochester Police Department's seven newest hires had a memorable first day Friday.
The seven were part of an emergency swearing-in so they were able to assist the department with President Trump's afternoon visit. The group was hired on Sept. 10 and were scheduled to be sworn in next week, according to department spokeswoman Amanda Grayson.
This is not the first time the department has held an emergency swearing-in for a presidential visit. The department had a similar ceremony back in 2004 when President George W. Bush came to Rochester.
