A weekend of music from the British Isles

OAK CENTER -- Music of the British Isles will be heard Oct. 29-30 from the stage of the Oak Center General Store.

British folksinger Pete Morton will perform at 8 p.m. Oct. 29, followed by Laura and the Lads at 8 p.m. Oct. 30.

Morton has been performing around the world for two decades, mixing traditional folk songs with contemporary compositions.

The Celtic and Irish music of Laura and the Lads is highlighted by the flutes, pies and whistles of Laura MacKenzie.

Tickets for each concert are $5 to $10; patrons pay what they can afford.
