ZUMBRO FALLS — A person was injured in an explosion at a home near Zumbro Falls on Tuesday.

Just before 3 p.m., emergency responders were called to the home at 56501 U.S. Hwy. 63 for a water heater explosion in the basement.

At least one person was burned and was transported to an area hospital by Mayo Clinic Ambulance, according to a Zumbro Falls firefighter on scene.

The east side of the home was heavily damaged. A hole in the house could be seen from the highway.

The Zumbro Falls and Elgin fire department assisted at the scene.
