The driver of a vehicle that hit a deer and then caught on fire early Wednesday was not injured in the accident, according to preliminary reports from the Olmsted County Sheriff's Office.
A 39-year-old woman was driving southbound on U.S. Highway 52 in Oronoco Township when she struck a deer, according to Capt. Scott Behrns. The woman pulled over and her vehicle began to smoke and then caught fire.
The fire was extinguished by the Oronoco Fire Department.
Behrns said no injuries were noted in the crash synopsis. No damage estimate for the vehicle was available Wednesday morning.
