A car heading south on Highway 52 near Apache Mall in Rochester struck a pedestrian around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, according to a Minnesota State Patrol report.

Grand Meadow resident Joseph Hoeft, 27, was crossing the southbound lanes from east to west when he was hit by the vehicle. He was transported by a Mayo ambulance and suffered life-threatening injuries, according to the report.

The driver, 22-year-old Iziah Grendahl, did not sustain any injuries.
