STEWARTVILLE - A school bus carrying six children from the Stewartville School District was involved in a crash with a semi-trailer at 12:57 p.m. Friday.

No children were injured in this crash and it is still early in the investigation, according to a release from the Olmsted County Sheriff's Office.

The crash occurred in the 7300 block of County Road 6 Southwest in High Forest Township. The initial investigation has determined that the semi driver did not see the school bus that was stopped in the roadway dropping off children. The semi attempted to avoid colliding with the school bus and as a result, it became jack-knifed in the ditch and roadway. At this time there is no indication of any alcohol or controlled substance use by any drivers.

There will not be any further details released until Monday as the investigation and reports need to be completed.
