AUSTIN -- The funeral for Adolph O. Larsen was April 15 at Emmanuel Nursing Home in Detroit Lakes, Minn. Burial was in Holy Cross Cemetery in Fargo, N.D.
Mr. Larsen, 91, of Detroit Lakes, formerly of Austin, died April 10, 2004, at Emmanuel Nursing Home.
Born Feb. 4, 1913, in Zumbrota, he graduated from Detroit Lakes High School in 1930, and attended Pasadena City College in California, Luther College in Decorah, Iowa, and North Dakota State University. On Sept. 15, 1933, he married Betty Healy in Decorah. He had been a field executive in Austin, worked at Hormel Foods Corp., and was a rural mail carrier for the Austin post office from 1946 until his retirement in 1970. During World War II, he served in the Navy as an air-raid warden and pharmacist's mate. He returned to Detroit Lakes in 1982.
There are no immediate survivors. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1995 and a son.
