ST. PAUL --The Minnesota Wild could be without restricted free agent Marian Gaborik for a significant part of the season because contract talks have stalled, said Allan Walsh, Gaborik's agent.
"From the very beginning of this process regarding Marian Gaborik, Marian has known there is a great possibility that he will not be playing half a year or even the entire season," Walsh told the Star Tribune.
"It's not a threat. It's just a statement based on the reality of the situation."
Walsh reported no progress Wednesday toward a contract. Gaborik has missed seven days of training camp and will miss tonight's first preseason game against the Vancouver Canucks.
