Agnes E. ‘Betty’ Gaertner — Rochester

ROCHESTER — Agnes E. "Betty" Gaertner, 81, a longtime Minneapolis area resident, formerly of Rochester, died March 25, 2007, at Samaritan Bethany Heights, of lung cancer.

She was born Dec. 15, 1925, and was a 1944 graduate of Washburn High School in Minneapolis. She first worked as a nurse at St. Peter Hospital and then was a policewoman in Richfield, Minn. She later was a front desk clerk at the Kahler Hotel in Rochester and a night auditor at Excel Inn in Bloomington, Minn. She was an outdoor enthusiast and loved dogs.

Survivors include a daughter, Susan Moline; a son, Geoff; and a brother, Jim (Adeline) Gibbons.

The dedication of a park bench in her honor will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Brown’s Point, West Bush Lake. Call the Cremation Society of Minnesota at (612) 825-2435 for directions.
