Packers win first dual meet of season

The Austin Packers boys golf team beat Rochester Century in the home opener on Monday at the Austin Country Club.

The Packers had four players shoot 18-hole rounds in the 80s and that was the difference in the Big Nine Conference dual meet. Austin pulled out a 333-335 in the conference opener.

Chris Myhro of Century was the meet medalist with a round of 75, but his teammates continue match that kind of production. Drew Osier was the low man for the Packers with a round of 80 on the day.

"Neither team played well," Century coach Jeff Wells said. "There were a lot of big numbers on a lot of scorecards."

Austin is now 1-0 in dual meets and 1-0 in the conference.
