Airport gets federal grant

Post-Bulletin, Rochester MN

Rochester International Airport has been awarded a $1.15 million grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Aviation Administration, U.S. Sen. Norm Coleman’s office announced Tuesday.

The grant will be used to buy snow removal equipment and provide funding for the second phase of the airport’s master plan. The plan is an effort to analyze the long-term needs of the airport and maximize economic activity.

"This snow removal equipment will allow us to continue to provide the safest possible operating environment for all commercial, corporate and general aviation airport users," said Kurt Claussen, assistant airport manager.
