ROCHESTER -- A private family service for Albert Edgar "Swede" Fenske will be Thursday, with the Rev. Scott Jorgenson officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Mr. Fenske, 83, of Rochester, an area farmer, died Sunday (Oct. 3, 2004) at his home.
He was born Nov. 18, 1920, in Chatfield and moved to Rochester when he was 1 year old. During World War II, he served in the Army. On May 24, 1945, he married Irene Lica in Rochester. His wife was a homemaker. She died May 27, 2001. He enjoyed dancing, playing cards and traveling.
Survivors include four daughters, Karen (Dan) Fenske-Jeno of Faribault, Kathleen (David) Hilliard of Byron, and Pamela Fenske and Laurie (Rick) Miller, both of Rochester; four sons, Stephen (Joyce) of Byron, Bob (Tracey) of Dexter, and Dan (Teresa) and Randy (Roxy), both Rochester; 13 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a brother, Leonard (Jeanette) of Arizona; and two sisters, Mary (Ray) Mahnke of Arizona and Arlene (Don) Holtum of Yonkers, N.Y. He was preceded in death by a son, a daughter, six sisters and two brothers.
